Seeing each other or not before wedding ceremony :: first look session ?
It’s a question we get from almost every bride during client consultation, “Would your recommend and should we see each other before the ceremony?”
Ultimately it’s up to you. But i highly recoment to set up so called “first look session” and get done with all pictures. If your dream is not see each other before the wedding and you are planning very traditional wedding and would love to have a grand moment where he sees you in your dress for the first time by altar– then go for it!
However, we would like to give you, some reasons why seeing each other before the ceremony at your wedding day can benefit you in many ways.
For starters, you will be able to attend your entire cocktail hour which is the best place to really see all your guests at once and have the time talk to each of them. With family formals out of the way the only obligations left are the really fun ones like toasts, dances and cake cutting. Your wedding day will fly by faster than you can imagine and seeing each other before hand maximizes the time you will get to spend with your guests.
And still think you can get more positive emotions when the “first look” moment happen only between two of you and not in front of hundreds of your relatives and guests.
You will get to spend 10 minutes talking, adoring each other, catching up on your morning with the one person who knows you the best and with whom you want to share every moment of your life. You, also get a lot amazing, romantic pictures and then there will be only family formal pictures left to take right after ceremony.
I highly recommend seeing each other before the ceremony at your wedding day getting your pictures done and being able to enjoy the day with your family and friends without any interruptions.
But as i mentioned….it is your wedding day, it is your choice and your decision.

Do you know the saying about shoemaker and shoes?
In a lot of cases it apply to photographers as well, but not if you have second shooter.
Wedding day is long day to work. And you have to lighten it up with some friendly teasing you second shooter about his sharp focus or chimping habits. And then you have to be careful. Payback can come back at you any moment.
You second shooter usually get some very embarrassing pictures of you. Do not even hope those will not be published. But thank you all for getting shoes for this shoemaker.
And i will include some of my paybacks to my favorite mentor John.
Its always fun to work with you.
